OUR VISION
Why a missionary-focused retreat center?
Missionaries are on the front lines of taking the gospel to the world. Their lives can be hard, stressful and lonely. Many face burnout and leave the field prematurely.
Our ministry exists to serve missionaries.
We want to offer a place of rest where missionaries can come to unwind, de-stress, and spend quality time with each other and the Lord, leaving energized to continue in their ministry.
The Call
In February of 2015, while praying and seeking the Lord in a little cabin in Pennsylvania, God called Chris and Becca Seymour to start a retreat for missionaries in Kalispell, Montana.
The Location
Kalispell, Montana, located in the Flathead Valley, is within 45 minutes of Glacier National Park and offers endless opportunities for rest and recreation.
It's the perfect place to rest, recharge and be refreshed.
Glacier
Glacier National Park is the Crown of the Continent in Montana's Rocky Mountains, with glacier-carved peaks and valleys and more than 700 miles of hiking trails.
Flathead Valley
The Flathead Valley has it all: Clear water, towering peaks, charming towns and lots of outdoor fun that includes hiking, biking, fishing, camping, and golfing.
Flathead Lake
Flathead Lake is the largest natural freshwater lake west of the Mississippi in the lower 48 states, with over 200 square miles of water and 185 miles of shoreline.
The Long-Term Plans
We envision Mission Mountain Ministries as a year-round retreat center on a beautiful property with multiple cabins, a main lodge and various luxury amenities.
The Property
We're looking for a large wooded piece of land that has amazing mountain views, a private lake/pond or stream, and is conveniently located to Glacier National Park.
The Cabins
The retreat would include multiple "rustic luxury" style cabins of various sizes to accommodate singles, couples, families and groups.
The Lodge
At the heart of the retreat would be a large National Park style lodge where guests could relax by the fire, socialize and dine.
The Amenities
We want to offer guests luxury amenities such as fully-equipped kitchens, fireplaces, wireless internet, air conditioning, laundry facilities, a swimming pool and more.
The Activities
Guests will be able to partake in various activities including horseback riding, hiking, fishing, kayaking, cross-country skiing, swimming, and more.
